Josuto Rudupra brings glory to RIST and North East

Josuto is now tipped to represent India at the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge-2017 to be held on July 19, 2017,.

New Delhi, June 29: Josuto Rudopra, a fourth semester student of Computer Science & Engineering at Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) was felicitated in New Delhi on Wednesday jointly by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ICDL India for topping the country in the prestigious Asia Digital Challenge-2017 conducted across the country. The felicitation ceremony was graced by Dr Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India along with other eminent academicians, top industry leaders and a host of dignities from the country and abroad.

Josuto is now tipped to represent India at the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge-2017 to be held on July 19, 2017, the first ever ICDL computer and digital competition covering the entire Asian continent. ICDL is the world's leading computer skills certification which had recently conducted the online competitions in numerous institutions all over India, among the tertiary and university students in the age group 18–25 years with an aim to search and recognis the top student with the best ICT skills.

After qualifying in the first round, Josuto scored 100% in the second round of online examination and came out as the topper in the whole country which has made the entire North Eastern region proud. The total cost of his travel to Singapore will be entirely sponsored by the ICDL India, New Delhi.

In a congratulatory message to Josuto, Chairman ERDF and RIST, Mahbubul Hoque said “I am extremely happy to learn about the outstanding achievement of our student who has brought laurels to the ERDF family and also to the whole of North East by topping in the Digital Challenge Competiotn-2017 in the whole country and I wish him success in all his future endeavours so that he can shine in the international platform also.” He also congratulated the faculty members of the Department at RIST for guiding the student to achieve this milestone."

Prince Sumberia, a student from Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, stood second in the competition who will also participate in the Asia Digital Challenge-2017 at Singapore along with Josuto.
