PA Sangma Chair Prof for Tribal Studies Launched at USTM

9th Mile, Ri Bhoi, September 6, 2018: In a step towards conservation and enrichment of the rich tribal literature and culture of the North East, Meghalaya Home Minister James Sangma has launched the PA Sangma Chair Professor of Tribal Studies at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya yesterday.

Launching the Chair, Home Minister Sangma expressed his thankfulness to Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM for honouring his late father with recognition of a Chair in his name in the University on the topic of Tribal Studies which was very near to his heart. “On behalf of my entire family, I thank USTM for this great honour”, he said. The Chair is expected to facilitate tribal research and studies and also intimate the authorities with relevant and valuable reports from time to time.
