USTM & RIST paid homage to PA Sangma
04th Mar, 2016 138The Honourable Chancellor, USTM and the Chairman, ERD Foundation along with the entire ERDF family consisting of all constituent institutions, express profound grief & shock at the sudden demise of the former Speaker of Lok Sabha and Chief Minister of Meghalaya P. A. Sangma.
Students, Faculties, Deans & high officials of University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) & Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST), today paid homage & prayed to the almighty
for the eternal peace of the departed soul of P. A. Sangma who was also one of the main influencing force behind the establishment of both the institutions in Meghalaya.
Captain P. A. Sangma was the main architect of the University Act, which culminated in the USTM. He has been a guiding force behind the establishment & nurturing of both USTM & RIST. He was the one who had laid the foundation stone of RIST & was a constant source of encouragement.
The authorities of ERD Foundation saluted the contribution of this great son of Meghalaya towards the development of the North Eastern region & they are committed to rise up to the expectation of this great mentor & well wisher. At this solemn moment they resoluted a pledge that following the footsteps of late Sangma, they will continue to serve the region & the nation.
