Barriers break while celebrating Women's Day at RIST
07th Mar, 2015 137Women who clean and sweep the floors in the university building and those who guide research scholars sat side by side at the function to mark International Women�s Day at Regional Institute of Science & Technology. Women who have shown exemplary quality in their work during the year 2014-15 were honoured at the international Women�s Day event which was participated by over 150 women personnel.
The Chairman M. Hoque informed that on the occasion of International Women's Day the University is honouring the efforts of women by highlighting their achievements in diverse fields and activities. A traditional gamosa, certificate, and gifts were handed over to five cleanliness staff - Regina Marak, Himani Rabha, Relima Sangma, Martina Marak, and Munu Kalita. Similarly, Dipty Nath Bania, Nurse; Prisca Sakhwa, Section Officer; and Muslima Khanam, Academic Officer were chosen for the honour from among miscellaneous personnel. In the field of academics, Krishna Sarma, Associate Professor; Nazia Rahman, HoD i/c (ME), Chandrali Sharma, Assistant Professor (ME) were the recipients of honour on the occasion.
