ERD Foundation, Guwahati & NIT, Silchar organizes Mega Science & Innovation Fair
12th Feb, 2016 136n this present scenario of technology, ERDF has taken initiatives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship development amongst the rural students of greater Barak Valley by organizing a mega Science & Innovation Fair at Central Public School, Badarpur on the 12th of February, 2016.
ERD Foundation, Guwahati has been organizing such programs every year in its two Central Public School in the district of Karimganj. Seeing these initiatives, this year National Institute of Technology, Silchar has come forward and jointly organized the Science & Innovation Fair in Badarpur.
The objective of the program was to provide a platform to the students to exhibit their project & innovative ideas, to explain the need for self employment, to provide knowledge to identify business opportunities in the region and to inculcate a culture of innovation driven entrepreneurship among the students.
The Science & Innovation Fair included events like exhibition of Science Projects, Poster making competition, Sit & Draw Competition on “Swach Bharat Mission”, Patriotic Song Competition etc. A workshop on “Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development” was also organized for School & College students. The winners of the Best Science Model, Best Poster, Best Innovative Idea and Best drawing were awarded with attractive prizes. The Science & Innovation Fair saw a overwhelming participation of 5000 students
The Fair was graced by Prof. N. V. Deshpande, Director of NIT, Silchar, Dr. P. G. Rao, Vice-Chancellor, USTM and other eminent academicians of the region.
