Around fifty educational institutions from Assam had participated in the exhibition.

As a token of reverence to Dr. C V Raman, the nobel laureate scientist, the exhibition was conducted to encourage innovation, scientific temper and spirit amongst the young generation, specifically the students’ fraternity. The valedictory session was organized on 1st march, 2017 and the results of the science model competition was declared.
Noteworthy to mention that the students of the Department of Applied Biology, University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) & Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) had bagged all three prizes. USTM & RIST, the two flagship institutions working under the auspices of ERD Foundation, Guwahati had always encouraged its students to do something innovative which would leave a mark of their own distinction in the field of science and technology.
The first prize was won by the team led by Paras Moni Goswami of the department of Applied Biology, USTM. The theme of their presentation was focused on “Waste Water Treatment Plant’ which signified the ways to recycle the waste water and how it can be used as a source of hydro-electricity and bio-fuel production.
